Despite being one of the most progressive cities in the nation, New York City schools still allow their black and Latino children continue to lag behind their white peers in reading and math.
This lack of educational opportunity is anything but progressive. If there’s any city that can rapidly pick up the pace it’s New York. It’s time for New Yorkers to do what they do best, and come together as one community to create an education system that not only works well for every child, but exists as a model for other cities to emulate.
